Web Development
All development of the back end of my sites is done in C# Using the microsoft .net framework, although I am happy to work on projects using classic ASP or VB.
Web hosting
I am able to offer web space on my dedicated server at competitive rates. Typically a CMS web site developed by me will cost around £7.50 per month - £10 per month, This may seem high compared to other hosting packages but when comparing the features of these packages you will find where the savings come in. For example a content managed web site has to store its data somewhere, so a database is needed, I use Microsoft SQL server as it is robust, scalable and above all reliable, most hosting companies will charge £5-10 for this alone. I also use the most up to date tools avaliable (Currently .NET 3.5 sp1, IIS7 Windows Server 2008) so far I have not found a hosting company which offers these for less.. Although if you have Ill be happy to set up hosting with them for your site!
Reporting
As a standard I include google tracking on any sites that I develop, this allows me to tell you if there is a specific page which users drop out on suggesting that additional attention may need to be paid to this page. On request I can set up the account to allow you access to this data, or it is also possible to change the tracking code to a google analytics account that you have created, however it is worth noting that if you decide to do this I will not be able to monitor your sites performance and advise you of potential problems.
DNS management
Managing your DNS records is one of those things that seems easy on the face of it (and it is) but when you need to change anything slightly advanced or you have a problem it can be very time consuming and confusing. I offer a service where I will Register and manage all of your domain names for your site, all domains will be registered to you and you are free to transfer them to another party at any time. This means that instead of you having to delve into an online control panel you can simply email me with what you require and Ill set it up for you.
Content managed web sites
Content managed web sites enable you to concentrate on getting your message accross to your clients without having to work about learning any new languages such as HTML or CSS. All you need to do is log into your web sites admin area and start adding pages to your site. My CMS sites are based on a simple idea, its a template based web site, with no template... the backend and 95% of the coding for the site is complete, all that is needed is for you to choose a predefined design or have a bespoke one designed for you, I then apply it to the CMS template and its done, this whole process can be completed in 2-3 weeks making it a very fast and cost effective way to get your bespoke, data driven web site online.
Web Site Maintenance Contracts
I am willing to provide support contracts for existing web sites which have been developed by other companies/in house, as the amount of work required will vary depending on how the site was put together in the first place I cannot give a fixed price for this. I can either bill monthly and provide support as and when needed, or can undertake work when required for a fixed hourly rate. I would advise that if you invisage requiring support frequently that you opt for the monthly contract rather than requesting work as and when as not only do I charge a lower rate for this, but with the monthly contracted support I will, where possible, look at your issues ahead of any other work that is taking place*.
* Obviously if there is something worse on another clients site, or another client has raised an issue ahead of you and are also on the monthly contract then I will treat these on a "first come, first served basis".
